“When we grow careless of keeping our souls, God recovers our taste of good things by sharp crosses.”
—Richard Sibbes
My prayer this week: Thank you, God, for stepping in when I become forgetful that I was bought at a price (1 Corinthians 6:20). Fill my heart with this gratitude, even while feeling the pain of consequences. Remind me that these “sharp crosses” are meant for my good — to prevent my wayward heart from robbing me of eternity with you.
