“When it comes to irritations, it helps if I remember that I am not in charge of my day…God is. One of His preferred methods of training is through adjustments to irritations.”
—Chuck Swindoll
My prayer this week: God, it’s far too easy to get caught up in the day-to-day frustrations of job, home, health, family, and church. Help me rest in the truth of your sovereignty in my life — and respond to “irritations” the way Jesus would. I want to be more and more Christ-like every day. Remind me that I am not in charge of my day and that you want to shoulder my burdens. As Matthew 11:28 says, “Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.”
